Honours students pre-exam shenanigans.
Stories, singing, dancing, questioning, writing their way to a state of preparedness.
Students of the University of the Free State’s
Thuthuka programme joined me for two sessions of creative expression, djembe-rhythm storytelling, singing, writing, critical conversation, and quite a bit of laughing. When debriefing the students, they said their favourite part of the leaderSHOP was the story of the half-child. What I enjoyed most was the four-voice group singing session, where all the students joined hands and arms, combining vocal harmony with physical unity.
